Christmas Songs Games
Christmas Carol Singing Contest This would be a great way to liven up an office Christmas party. Everyone can take turns showing their talent off while singing a favorite Christmas carol. You can have a few people judge the singers and then provide prizes for the best, the worst, funniest, most original etc.
Name that Carol Remember “Name that Tune”? Well, at Christmas, we want to guess the carol. Pull out the CD player and pop one in. Divide the family into two teams and play head-to-head competition just like the game show. Play a few seconds of the Christmas carol to see who can guess it. Start with simple carols for the children in your family who are participating. Use Christmas songs recorded with words and music for them. Throw in some instrumental Christmas carols for the adults so the players won’t get a hint from the words. To make the game more challenging, ask the players to name the carol and the musical artist for the songs with words accompanying the music.
Musical Present Remember the game you use to play as a child called hot potato? This is almost the same. You will need a child's small gift, wrapping paper, tape and a radio. Wrap the gift up like a present. You will need to repeat this process as many times as you want to form layers. we usually do about 9 layers. Everyone needs to sit in a circle and pass the present around the group. When the music stops who ever is holding the present gets to remove a layer of the paper. Start playing the game again. Game ends when ever the last layer is removed. The person who removed the last layer keeps the present.
Musical Chairs Who says this is just a game for children. After a few drinks of wine or champagne this game could be lots of fun. Have everyone sit in a chair, then start the Christmas music and have them all walk around the chairs. Take away one of the chairs. Suddenly stop the music and see without a seat. Continue until there is only one person left.
Jingle Bell Relay Play this game and your party guest will feel like kids again. Before the party, purchase some jingle bells. Divide your guests into two teams. Players race around a specific course carrying a heaping pile (at least 15) of jingle bells and then hands them off to the next member of their team. ALL jingle bells must be handed to the next player. The first team to complete the course, having all jingle bells cross the finish line, wins!
Carol Karaoke Choose a Christmas carol for someone else to sing for the group. Everyone will get a chance in the spotlight to bring down the house or bomb out. Choose lesser known Christmas carols to make the game a little more interesting.
Xmas Idol Similar to AmericanIdol show. Contestants must sing Cristmas songs. Audience votes by applause, and the person with the most clapping after their carol wins.
