Christmas Games for Kids
Santa's Beard Set a pile of cotton balls and a dab of Vaseline as each player's position. When a grown-up yells”Go!” the children race to smear their chins with the Vaseline and stick the cotton balls to it. Set a time limit. The child with the most cotton balls in his or her “beard” when time runs out is the winner.
Musical Present for Xmas Remember the game you use to play as a child called hot potato? This is almost the same. You will need a child's small gift, wrapping paper, tape and a radio. Wrap the gift up like a present. You will need to repeat this process as many times as you want to form layers. we usually do about 9 layers. Everyone needs to sit in a circle and pass the present around the group. When the music stops who ever is holding the present gets to remove a layer of the paper. Start playing the game again. Game ends when ever the last layer is removed. The person who removed the last layer keeps the present.
Pin The Nose On Rudolph for Kids Similar to Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Put a drawing of a reindeer on the wall, (minus it's nose, of course), and give each child a red “nose” with tape on the back of it. One by one, blindfold each child and spin them around a few times, and then let them try to get their nose onto the proper place on Rudolph's face. The child who comes closest to the correct position wins.
Hot Christmas Package This game is played just like Hot Potato. Have the children sit around in a circle and play some Christmas music. Pass around a present and when the music stops the child left holding the gift gets to keep it. As a child gets a gift they are out of the circle. Continue until every child has a gift of their own.
Christmas Anagrams - Christmas Games for Children Divide the group into teams of 3-5 per team. Post a Christmas word or phrase and give the teams 5 minutes to write down as many words as they can using only the letters in that word or phrase. (Suggested words/phrases...o-r-n-a-m-e-n-t, c-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s-t-r-e-e, w-i-n-t-e-r-w-o-n-d-e-r-l-a-n-d, etc.) The team that creates the longest list of words is the winner.
Musical chairs - Christmas Games for Kids Who says this is just a game for children. After a few drinks of wine or champagne this game could be lots of Christmas fun. Have everyone sit in a chair, then start the Cristmas music and have them all walk around the chairs. Take away one of the chairs. Suddenly stop the music and see without a seat. Continue until there is only one person left.
Kids Cookie Race Give each child a blank cookie in a Christmas shape (snowman, Santa, reindeer, etc.), and have frosting and little candies available (m&m's, sprinkles, candy corn, etc.) to make the faces with. When a grown-up yells “Go!”, each child has to frost and decorate their cookie as fast as they can. The first one finished is the winner. To make it more interesting (and more messy) don't give them any utensils to spread with (hands only), or blindfold them.
